While each of these market sectors has distinct characteristics, there is one overarching theme that pertains to all six of the industry segments we cover: the climate for middlemarket mergers and acquisitions is strong and likely to remain strong well into 2008. Despite reports of tighter credit and continuing volatility in equity markets, the M&A environment for mid-sized information and technology companies continues to be favorable.

In fact, in the second half of 2007 we closed more transactions, at consistently high valuations, than in any comparable period in our 25-year history.
