New York, NY – March 19, 2021 – Berkery Noyes is pleased to announce the firm represented Nyotron in its acquisition by a Multinational Data Protection and Cybersecurity Provider. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Based in Santa Clara, CA with an R&D office in Israel, Nyotron has pioneered a new generation of automatic Endpoint Detection and Response with integrated protection called Endpoint Prevention and Response (EPR). The Company prevents damage from malware that evades existing security layers and offers granular visibility into the attack. The acquisition enhances the buyers’ integration of backup, disaster recovery, cybersecurity, and endpoint management in one solution.

Nyotron has turned the security paradigm upside down by focusing on the damage stage or the intended outcome behind the attack. Traditional as well as next-generation endpoint security technologies attempt to prevent attacker’s entry into the enterprise, whether at the perimeter or the endpoint, acting like gates that can be bypassed. Targeted and unknown threats will often bypass existing security controls if given enough time. Nyotron’s engine maps legitimate operating system behavior, so when an attack attempts to delete, exfiltrate or encrypt files, it’s aware the actions shouldn’t be allowed and stops the damage from executing.

The Company’s flagship product, PARANOID, seamlessly coexists with antivirus and next-generation antivirus solutions. PARANOID consists of an agent at the endpoint and the PARANOID Server. It can be deployed transparently to the user without requiring a reboot and can operate in detection or prevention mode to thwart the execution phase of an attack and prevent actual damage.

Berkery Noyes served as financial advisor to Nyotron in the transaction. Martin Magida and Michael Goettemoeller, Managing Directors of Berkery Noyes, stated: “Nyotron’s unique ‘whitelist’ approach to endpoint protection at the operating system level attracted a world class acquiror. We are delighted to have advised Nyotron as we continue to build our cyber and broader security practice.”
