Berkery Noyes, an independent investment bank, today announced that Peter Yoon has joined the firm as Managing Director in the Education Group.

Mr. Yoon has approximately 15 years of investment banking and principal investing experience, mainly in education. He is the latest addition to the senior staff at Berkery Noyes. As Managing Director, Mr. Yoon will specialize in advising companies in the education and training sector, including the post-secondary, preK-12, childcare services and corporate training areas.

“Peter’s hiring is a further commitment to the education space, which we feel will complement and build upon our strong legacy and historical focus in the sector,” said Joseph Berkery, the firm’s founder and Chief Executive Officer. “With the addition of Peter, we are significantly enhancing our ability to identify new strategic and financing opportunities for our clients.”

Mr. Yoon was most recently a Principal at Epic Partners, a merchant banking and advisory firm focused exclusively in the education space, where he provided corporate finance and strategic advice to privately held firms across the entire education and training spectrum.  Previously, he worked in the investment banking groups at the Bank of Montreal and UBS.

Before embarking on a career in business, Mr. Yoon served as a Captain in the U.S. Army as an attack helicopter pilot. He is currently a member of the Board of Governors of the West Point Society of New York.

Mr. Yoon earned a BS in Economics from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business.
