NEW YORK,  September 20 2000 — Butterworth-Heinemann is pleased to announce the acquisition of the Technical Reference and Business books from Gulf Publishing Company. The name Gulf Professional Publishing will be used for the newly acquired titles.

This acquisition is an excellent match for the Butterworth-Heinemann publishing program and the addition of these fine books and authors are a complement to our established titles. Butterworth-Heinemann and Gulf Publishing will continue to work together to assure a smooth transition. Members of the Gulf staff are working with us to maintain the quality of customer service.

Please note: The Gulf imprints of Lone Star Books, Enchanted Rock, Gulf audiobooks, Barker Heeler, The Leadership Press and other general trade titles were not included in this transaction. Orders already recorded with Gulf will be transferred to Butterworth-Heinemann, who will contact customers to confirm order details and will supply titles as soon as they become available.

Returns of books shipped and invoiced by Gulf prior to August 16, 2000 will be accepted for 90 days, or until November 16, 2000. Thereafter, no returns will be accepted by Gulf.
